Star of Stage and Screen Comes to Kilkenny
One of Ireland’s best known faces from the world of stage and screen is to make a rare public appearance in Kilkenny in a fundraiser for the Loreto secondary school.
Award winning actress Pauline McLynn, known to millions for her high profile TV roles which include the legendary Mrs Doyle in the smash hit comedy Father Ted as well as TV series including “Shameless” and “French and Saunders” and who is also the author of seven best selling novels, will appear for one night only on Thursday March 18th at 8pm in Langton’s fabulous new SET Theatre.
McLynn and her husband Richard Cook are no strangers to Kilkenny. The couple were married in Kilkenny’s St Canice’s Cathedral, Richard was founder of the internationally renowned Cat Laughs Festival, and they are regular visitors to the city.
Loreto Parents Association Committee member Nicky Read says,”A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed with an evening of stories, laughter and readings from Pauline’s novels. Pauline McLynn is renowned for her quick wit and is truly one of Ireland’s most unique talents. In addition we are delighted to be offering a highly sought after raffle prize of any two VIP tickets to a performance of your choice in the O2 arena in Dublin, which includes access to the VIP lounge – and you never know who you might meet there! So, go on, go on, go on to the SET Theatre on March 18th for a great night out.”
With the recent announcement of the go ahead for a 15 classroom new extension to the Loreto Secondary school this event is an important fundraiser for the Loreto Parents Association
Tickets for the “Evening with Pauline McLynn” are priced at just €10 and are available now from the SET Theatre at Langtons or from the Loreto Secondary School.
